Lynn Valley Custom Home
The Purcell family was having a new home built in North Vancouver for some pretty unique and exceedingly important reasons. They had a few distinct criteria too. They wanted a green home and one that was great looking. It also had to be functional for their 6-member family. On top of that, they needed it to a special healing space for one particular family member.
Their 13-year-old son, Tyler, lives with a rare degenerative syndrome that impacts a child’s entire body, having an immune system that is easily compromised. Tyler undergoes regular physical therapy and other health treatments at home. There is no cure for Hunter’s syndrome, but the Purcell family has been very proactive in doing what is best for Trey’s health.
Naikoon Contracting, a premier builder of quality, luxury custom homes in Western Canada, with a focus in energy efficiency, and the protection of the environment did it using all natural products and materials and avoidance of chemicals. Further taking advantage of Naikoon’s ‘green build’ expertise, the family also wanted to use as much recycled material as possible, particularly from their previous home.
The result, as you can see in the photos, is a stunning home with durable, industrial elements. But the love and care is a special story, explain why WireChief was very keen to be part of this project.
